Switching Gears

I haven’t been too enthusiastic about landscape painting lately so I thought I’d switch to some still life painting to recharge my batteries. More practice with whites (since there isn’t much snow here… yet). This took about an hour and a half this morning from the comfort of my studio. I painted some milk cartons white because I thought their shapes and forms were interesting. They’ll be a nice compliment to the more organic shapes of my white bottles.

The warms and cools aren’t quite right but I’ll leave it and move on to the next painting. Palette: white, raw sienna, quinacridone magenta, black. (Loving black lately)
