Play

Yesterday was Andrew Wyeth’s 100th birthday. I was thinking about it all day and thinking about the events back home at the Brandywine Museum to celebrate. I really wanted to paint but was busy all day and couldn’t find even a few minutes. Before bed time the kids watched a movie and I finally got to play a little. I toned a piece of paper and tried transparent watercolor on it with some touches of opaque white gouache at the end. This morning it looks a little dark and I’m thinking about trying to lighten it with more gouache. When it’s night time and I don’t have a still life set up or any other subject planned there’s always a mirror around somewhere.
