Happy New Year 2018

Still not much painting going on around here but I do manage to get to a figure group regularly to keep myself sane. Here are a few recent pieces from those sessions. The first two were 20 minute poses.

Water soluble graphite.

A longer pose. I drew the figure onto the paper for the first 20 minutes. I don’t usually do that and it was a struggle. When I draw I don’t do drawings that lend themselves very well to filling in the shapes with colors. And when I paint I don’t like to try to stay in predetermined lines. If I was a better draftsman that method would probably work for me, but currently it doesn’t suit me.
