I’m using oil paints again. I’ve gotten some new fast dry mediums that hopefully will help with my hatred of how long it’s been taking my oil paintings to dry. I also bought a new bottle of W&N thinner yesterday but knocked over the bottle half way through my painting. By that point I was done using it so I should’ve put the cap back on. Live and learn.

It was a beautiful, calm morning. Diffused light through the thin clouds. There were lots of ducks. Buffleheads with goldeneyes. Big rafts of cooing, whistling eiders. And I might have seen three gannets. My pocket camera is such garbage the pictures are terrible, but I don’t go in the refuge for birding so I try to focus on painting. Like the waves, the birds are an easy distraction and I’d watch them all day. This is 12×16”
